Huib Vogel, who is a qualified radiologist, is the founder and managing director of Medicvision©. During his medical studies at Leiden University he specialized in the field of radiology and upgraded his education by a fellowship in Computed Tomograph. The board of directors of St. Jansdal hospital, established in Harderwijk in the Netherlands, employed him to introduce advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging techniques in order to improve the radiology department of the hospital. After 21 years he felt the need to alter his career path and offer his expertise to a larger, wider and more international circle. Through MedicVision he is able to offer his services as locum radiologist, coach, clinical manager and consultant for fellow physicians. Since his career change he has been employed as locum radiologist by several hospitals around the world, such as the Horacio Oduber hospital in Aruba and the Fundashon Mariadal hospital in Bonaire.
Moreover, it is possible for patients to employ his capacities for a second opinion and Teleradiology.
Huib Vogel developed specific protocols concerning the request for radiological enquiries to be implemented by the hospital and other local general practitioners. His last ‘book’ was published under the name “Vuistregels aanvraag radiodiagnostiek”. (Rules-of-thumb for requests of diagnostic radiology). His operating range is of significant extent as it does not only concern all-round radiology, he has participated in a team of pediatricians and neurologist in order to diagnose neurological abnormalities in an infant and together with pneumonologists he has examined illnesses in dolphins and porpoises from a local aquarium by means of CT scans. Furthermore, he posed as expert in the national television series “Wonderen bestaan”(Miracles do exist) by providing medical insights.
By attending and participating in international radiology conventions and courses, such as the “Radiology Review Course” of ARRS in San Diego, he keeps his skills and knowledge up-to-date and conform the newest protocols and developments in his field.
